Welcome to CreativeFun!

— Last updated: 19th September, 2025 —

A server dedicated to ensuring that people of all ages and backgrounds can safely engage themselves in the countless activities available on our server!

For that possibility, we need your cooperation in following our few simple, important rules. Please make sure that you have read through all of them carefully! For further explanations and details on a rule, you may click on the rule to collapse the rule and show more information.

All rules are subject to change as needed. The rules are non-exhaustive, meaning if something is not explicitly stated in the rules, it does not mean you can say or do it. If you are confused on a rule or punishment, it is your duty to reach out to a staff member to ask any questions or state concerns.

Before you read the rules, please keep the following in mind:

  • “I didn’t know” or “It was just a joke” is not grounds for your punishment to be removed or changed.

  • Warnings are given out at staff jurisdiction or if the rule states you will receive a warning. Staff and the player must be online to receive a warning, otherwise the next punishment listed will be enforced.

  • The examples and lists provided in the rules are not a full and final list of every possible case or rule. The staff team may judge each case and punish at their discretion.

Advertising

Unprovoked advertising or trying to get somebody to join your server, website, Discord, or follow their social media is not allowed. We allow players to share their social media handles through their bios, but restrictions may apply. CreativeFun-related Discord server codes are allowed to be advertised freely, as well as private survival servers and realms. Asking for link URLs and IPs to such should be done outside of the server, you may also discuss other servers or social media.

Permanent Ban Offences

You are not allowed to…

  • Advertise any inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content

— Advertising content that may be harmful, offensive (racist, homophobic, tragic historical events), or inappropriate (pornographic) for casual viewing is strictly prohibited. It does not matter the method used to advertise, you will be permanently banned.

Temporary Ban Offences

Punishment Scaling: 3 days —> Permanent ban

You are not allowed to…

  • Advertise through other methods

— Anything advertised will lead to a temporary ban regardless of intent or method. Social media handles are allowed. Any advertising done in the Discord server will receive a ban. If somebody does not want to be advertised to in private messages through Discord, you will also be banned.

— If a plot only exists so you can advertise a website, social media, Discord server, Minecraft server, you will be temporarily banned with the advertisement being removed.

Mute Offences

Punishment Scaling: Warning —> 5 minutes —> 30 minutes —> 1 day —> 7 days —> Temporary ban

  • Advertise other Minecraft servers

— You are not allowed to advertise other Minecraft servers regardless of the method or intent. This will include directly asking, subtly advertising, comparing servers, and sending IPs in chat. Mentioning other servers by name is allowed, as well as asking if somebody wants to join a quick minigame round on well-known servers.

You can say:

  • Advertise Discord servers or websites

— Discord servers and websites are only allowed to be advertised in relation to CreativeFun. Otherwise, you will be muted if you advertise or send the URL. Asking for links or sharing links should be done outside of the server itself, with the exception of CreativeFun website URLs and Discord server codes. Mentioning and discussing helpful websites for technical usage such as birdflop or blockpalettes is allowed and will not be seen as advertising.

You can say:

scholarlycabinet > Here is my discord server gg/creativefun (features a code to join the server)

RipplingRou7e93 > creativefun is my join code for our discord server (features a code to join the server)

modest_pig > Friend me on Discord for host times on my rp server (is advertising a Discord server)

In some cases (such as recommending an artist or builder on Instagram), discussing public social media accounts by name may be allowed. Asking for links or sharing links should be done outside of the server itself.

Bypassing The Chat Filter & Permissions

During your time on the server, you may encounter a message that says your message was blocked by the chat filter. Typically this has to do with the content of your message being against our rules, and it is discouraged that you try to send the message. Regardless of your intent, below explains the punishment for if you ignore the server warning.

Permanent Ban Offences

You are not allowed to…

  • Bypass permanent mutes

— Any means to bypass a permanent mute will result in a permanent ban.

  • Bypass for discriminating or harassing intent

— You will be immediately IP banned if you bypass your punishment by any means to spread hate speech, discrimination, or harassment intentions.

  • Use alternative accounts to bypass

— All punishments are meant for the individual, not the account. If you are caught using an alternative Minecraft account to play on the server to bypass any rules, you will be given one more chance not to break the rules again, regardless of punishment. However, breaking rules as you were previously will result in an IP ban. If evidence is given that you are using an alternative account and are not a second player, you will be banned. An exception is made to this rule if you were banned for having inappropriate usernames.

Temporary Ban Offences

Punishment Scaling: 1 day —> 1 day —> 1 day —> 3 days —> 7 days —> 30 days —> 90 days —> Permanent ban

You are not allowed to…

  • Bypass chat rules via other methods

This will be seen as you trying to hide messages from staff members regardless of intent. If the message you break is against the rules you will be temporarily banned. You are only allowed to bypass if you are specifying your mute duration, as this is public information you can see with the /seen command.

  • Bypass any plot restrictions

— You will only be punished if you bypass a plot denial, if you refuse to leave the plot after being asked to leave by either the plot staff, a staff member, or are reported, you will be punished. Bypassing any other plot features, such as locked doors are not bannable as the plot owner can kick or deny you.

  • Bypass a /ignore

— If a player has you physically ignored via our in-game command (/ignore), it is in your best interest to leave the player alone. Multiple attempts to get the player to interact with you will be punishable.

Examples of bypassing:

Following someone onto plots, throwing them books, having players ask them to unignore you

Mute Offences

Punishment Scaling: Warning —> 2 minutes —> 5 minutes —> 10 minutes —> Repeating 10-minute offences

You are not allowed to…

  • Bypass the chat filter

— Bypassing is when you manage to get a disallowed word/phrase to send in the chat either by modifying the word. Several methods can be done to achieve this, such as: Shortening a word, replacing letters with other characters, spacing apart letters, adding multiple letters to spell out a filtered word, or using other words/phrases.

— Warnings are not given out if you bypass slurs, hateful comments, inappropriate references, or reported messages and will be muted appropriately.

Examples of bypassing:

Disaster_TimeXXX > What kind of drgs do you mean (shortening a word)

CarrotTrader > That takes the p!ss on things (replacing letters with other characters)
relaxingflood > Why is l m a o filtered? (spacing apart letters)

bloodyDiamond > fffffuuuucccckkk off already!!! (adding multiple letters to spell out a filtered word)
Cafe_Elegance > Oh orbs (word replacement for balls)

y3arningfall > Youre a gardening tool (word replacement for hoe)

Ranting_Realm > My character liked how their flesh tasted (phrase to describe cannibalism)

  • Bypass to send website links in Global or Advertising chat

— The only website links you are allowed to send are YouTube, Spotify, Discord (see Advertise Discord servers or websites ), and CreativeFun links. You are only allowed to send links in private messages (/MSG) or local chat (/L). Mentioning and discussing helpful websites for technical usage such as birdflop or blockpalettes is allowed.

  • Speak in Morse code or binary

— Both Morse code and binary are disallowed in all chats, regardless of intent. You may use it in book items if it does not break any server rules.

  • Swear with demeaning or inappropriate intent

— The following words are the only swear words you are allowed to use: Ass, bastard, bitch, fuck, ho(e), motherfucker, piss, prick, and shit.

— You are allowed to swear on the server by toggling the profanity filter in /settings and clicking the wool under the TNT item. You must say the full word, otherwise you will be muted for bypassing.

— Usage of these swear words in acronyms and other languages is fine as long as they follow the same ruleset. However, we can not promise censorship in other languages as this is a primarily English-speaking server.

Do not do this:

Glossy_Cactus > This build looks like sh it (spacing apart letters)

UphappyReptile > I f*cking love dinner! (is not fully censored)

charcoal453 > p1ss (is not fully censored)

TranslucentPlum > fffffuuuucccckkk (multiple added letters)

evokerraccoon > This roleplay is a## (not fully censored)

Instead, do this:

Glossy_Cactus > This build looks like shit (is not spaced apart)

UnhappyReptile > I ####### love dinner! (fully censored)

charcoal453 > piss

TranslucentPlum > fffffuck (the last 4 letters will be filtered)

evokerraccoon > This roleplay is ass

Behaviour Expectations

Below are our expectations for behaviour on the server. We encourage CreativeFun to be a safe space for all people regardless of who they are and strive for a positive and enjoyable environment. If another player is breaking these rules, we encourage you to report them on our Discord server and to /ignore the player if necessary.

Permanent Ban Offences

You are not allowed to…

  • Attempt to lag or crash the server/players

— Creating harmful contraptions or distributing items purposefully to crash or lag the server or players will result in an unappealable permanent ban. This will be viewed as abusing exploits. If you admit to trying either of these things, you will be banned. Anything causing intentional harm will be removed.

— Abused exploits that do not cause the server to lag or crash but are used to take advantage of a bug/glitch the server does not allow for your gain will be punished case-by-case. They will not always warrant permanent bans.

  • Be discriminatory

— Discrimination is the prejudicial treatment of somebody based on their race, religion, romantic/sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, social class, or disability. Indirect, subtle, or unintentional discrimination, as well as the usage of dog whistles and undertones, are not tolerated with any intent. You will receive a 5-minute mute as a warning to stop. Continuing will give you a 30-minute mute, as well as a permanent ban from the server and our Discord server when a moderator is available to ban you. You may be permanently muted as needed or banned if multiple offences are reported within a day.

Examples of discrimination:

Intentional misgendering, generalization of a minority, slur usage, agreeing with discriminating comments

  • Grief other players

— We define griefing as the intentional destruction of another person's build through any method. Griefing free builds or plots that have everybody added and/or trusted will not be punishable. If you are the plot owner, removing somebody’s build from your own plot while they are offline is not considered grief.

  • Share sensitive information (doxxing) or phishing

— Do not share sensitive or personal information about others without their consent, including names, birthdays, ages, or similar details. Pressuring others to share such information is also prohibited. Remember, some players prefer to keep this information private, and staff will only act if there is clear evidence of a violation. To protect your own privacy, avoid sharing details you don’t want others to know, as some information (such as names) may naturally come up in conversation.

The following is considered sensitive information:

Social media handles, phone numbers, first or full names (case by case), addresses, government information

Temporary Ban Offences

Punishment Scaling: Varies between subcategories. Please expand each rule for more information.

You are not allowed to…

  • Abuse loopholes within the rules

— Intentionally avoiding punishment by skirting or bypassing any rules through unlisted methods is strictly prohibited. Any commonly abused loopholes will be patched as necessary. Depending on the rule you were trying to avoid, you will be punished according to the rule(s) you have broken.

Multiple (3 or more) pieces of evidence will be presented as well as being told to stop before punishment is given out.

  • Continuously be disrespectful towards server members

— See mute reason for more information. If you have multiple mutes that are blatantly harmful, hateful, or degrading you will be temporarily banned from the server. Players who got muted or banned for harmless jokes between friends should appeal appropriately with proof of friendship. Not all appeals may be accepted depending on the content. If you continuously show targeted disrespectful comments or actions towards players on Discord, you will be banned from the Discord server as well.

Punishment Scaling: 1 day —> 7 days —> 14 days —> Permanent ban

  • Disrespect server members through builds or other methods

— Using other methods to show blatantly harmful, hateful, and/or degrading statements towards other players regardless of whether they are a recurring player, new player, or a staff member alike is not allowed. Regardless of whether they are a friend or not does not matter.

Depending on the severity of the build/method used to show disrespect, you will be punished by one of the following methods below and the build will be removed. Builds or other methods that display violent or inappropriate content involving a player will be handled accordingly.

Minor disrespectful instances: Warning and asking to remove —> 1 day —> 7 days —> 14 days —> Permanent ban

Major disrespectful instances: 7 days —> 30 days —> Permanent ban

Disallowed examples:

Tier lists, putting specific players in jail or similar, putting players in inappropriate situations

  • Harass or bully other server members

— While this is similar to being disrespectful towards server members, harassing or bullying members is defined as long-term and repetitive harm, intimidation, or coercion towards a person or group. It follows the same rules as no disrespect, with consideration of long-term punishment. Your punishment may be extended as needed depending on the circumstances of the situation. If needed, off-server harassment will be taken into consideration.

Multiple (3 or more) pieces of evidence of targeted disrespect will be presented as well as being told to stop before a punishment is given. If you continuously harass or bully a server member on the Discord server, you will be banned from there as well.

Punishment Scaling: Warning —> 1 day —> 7 days —> 14 days —> Permanent ban

Examples of harassment:

Trying to get somebody to unignore you, constantly making fun of a player or group, spreading misinformation/disinformation, demeaning comments, targeted jokes

  • Plagiarize other players’ builds

Copying or stealing builds from other players is not allowed regardless of method or intent. You will be asked to remove the build(s) requested. If you do not remove the builds within a reasonable amount of time, you will be temporarily banned and staff will remove the builds themselves. Continuing this behaviour will eventually result in a permanent ban.

Punishment Scaling: Warning —> 7 days —> 30 days —> 90 days —> Permanent ban

  • Troll with harmful intentions

— Harmful trolling is defined as creating an unhealthy, undesirable, or disruptive environment for other players through various methods. Trolling is not limited to one person, but can also be a group of people who intend to harass others when online and do not necessarily have a designated target. Any form of harmful trolling that uses undertones or dog whistles, as well as creating unneeded, harmful, or unsettling comments/arguments is also not allowed.

Multiple (3 or more) pieces of evidence of harmful trolling will be presented as well as being told to stop before a punishment is given.

Mute Offences

Punishment Scaling: Varies between subcategories. Please expand each rule for more information.

You are not allowed to…

  • Be disrespectful towards server members

— Intentionally and blatantly harmful, hateful, or degrading statements towards other players regardless of whether they are a recurring player, new player, or a staff member alike are not allowed. Light insults and jokes amongst friends are okay as long as it is obvious it is not with harmful intent. You will receive a warning to be nicer if it seems to be a continuous pattern and the next time you are rude will result in a mute. Arguments where clear aggression was received will receive warnings to stop and continuing will also result in a mute.

Warnings will be given out at staff's discretion. If you continue to get multiple mutes you will be temporarily banned. Any mutes will not go down in length after being banned unless your mutes clear or an appeal has been accepted. You are also not given infinite chances and may receive a permanent mute if too many mutes have been reached.

Punishment Scaling: Warning —> 5 minutes —> 10 minutes —> 20 minutes —> Temporary ban

Examples of disrespect:

Making rude comments, swearing at others, subtle jabs, continuous insults, continuous complaints or arguments, being openly hateful

  • Converse in the wrong channel

— Talking casually in the advertising chat (/A) is not allowed, as that chat is only for people who want to advertise server events, their plots, or similar. Intentionally advertising your plots or events in global chat (/G) also is not allowed. You will be warned multiple times to move to the appropriate channel before being muted.

Punishment Scaling: Warning —> 2 minutes —> 5 minutes —> 10 minutes —> Repeating 10-minute offences

— If you encourage players to break any rules, you will be muted.

Punishment Scaling: Warning —> 2 minutes —> 5 minutes —> 10 minutes —> Repeating 10-minute offences

  • Impersonate staff members

Intentionally telling players you’re a member of staff or that you’re going to get them punished in an attempt to trick a player into doing something regardless of nature. If you are trying to scare or threaten a player with no indication of it being a joke/sarcasm, you will be punished. This also includes fake mute messages and changing your username to a name similar to a staff member's, such as “SvperMonis”. This rule exists to prevent new players from being tricked by other players.

Punishment Scaling: 2 minutes —> 5 minutes —> 10 minutes —> 15 minutes —> 30 minutes —> 1 hour —> 1 day —> 7 days —> Permanent mute

Examples of threats:

— Do not share personal information that is not widely known or ask players for such information. You may privately share your own information, such as your first name or social media username, but you should not share information such as your home address or phone number. Posting fake addresses or other sensitive details (such as somebody’s full name or birthdays) without explicit consent is prohibited and will be punished if staff cannot effectively verify if it is real or not.

Punishment Scaling: Warning —> 10 minutes —> 30 minutes —> Permanent mute

  • Spam

— Chat spam: 3+ repetitive or similar messages within 2 minutes. If you are advertising in global chat (/G), it will be treated as spam. Spamming in local chat (/L) and private messages (/MSG) is exempt. However, if you report someone for spamming you in private messages (/MSG) they will be muted.

Example of chat spam:

Dutiful_Sprite > Meow [Sent at 12:00]

Dutiful_Sprite > Meowow [Sent at 12:01]

Dutiful_Sprite > Meoww [Sent at 12:03]

— Group spam: 3+ people collectively and intentionally responding to a message in a chat with the goal of spamming the chat. The person who started the chain will not be punished unless proven to be intentionally contributing.

  • Use bot or AI accounts to break server rules

— Incorrect usage of bot or AI accounts will result in the accused secondary account being permanently banned on the server. If its owner is known, they will receive a warning to stop as well as an explanation as to why this has happened. Continuing to use bot or AI accounts will result in a temporary ban.

Examples of misuse:

If the discussion gets out of hand, offensive, or hateful, you will be muted accordingly regardless of whether you are reported or not. By joining the server, you are agreeing to follow each rule listed on the server and accepting any punishments if the rule were to be broken. Please continue to read below for information on appealing punishments.

Any concerns about Staff Members not doing their job properly should be reported to an Admin or Owner. It is Staff's duty to enforce all rules and help players, regardless of rank or status.

— How do mutes work?

If you cannot send messages in chat or see a message saying you were muted, you will be unable to speak in the chat for however long the duration states you have been muted for. Mutes will start when a player is online.

If you have been permanently muted for 2 or more months, you may appeal your mute. All mutes on an account clear after a month or longer of not receiving a mute to give players a fresh start. Please refrain from bypassing a mute no matter the duration, doing so will result in being banned.

Please note that while unlikely, some rules that say they have repetitive offences may still result in a permanent mute if too many mutes are issued. The reason for this is to avoid potential abuse and players taking advantage of the punishment system. First offence permanent mutes also may be issued to players who use the chat to break ban offences.

— What are appeals?

If you believe a punishment given to you should be reconsidered, you are welcome to open an appeal for staff to review the situation. Admins and Owners handle these. Please make sure to fill out the format properly and provide any additional context necessary so the appeal process can go smoothly. If you have any questions or concerns about a punishment, feel free to reach out in an appeal or by messaging the staff member who issued the punishment.

Note that permanent bans or mutes will not expire no matter how much time passes. To be given another chance, you will need to open an appeal. The following is taken into consideration when reviewing a case:

  • Your past actions or history on the server

  • If the player is insisting on a punishment being lifted

  • How the “why should you be unbanned?” question was answered (such as downplaying a punishment as being a joke, not being as important as it was, appearing unsympathetic towards your actions, etc.)

  • If the player has met their appeal term

  • Your previous ban history

Staff will take note of your behaviour and respond accordingly. It is up to their judgement to decide how the case should be handled. All verdicts are final and may vary in responses, depending on the case. Staff may reach out to either the punisher or the player for additional context if they believe it may be helpful.

If staff are unsure whether the player did something that was considered rulebreaking or not and are unable to figure it out, they will give benefit of the doubt and remove the punishment. If an appeal is rejected, you will receive a message as to why, as our goal is to help players understand why their actions have been harmful. If a player is unsure why a punishment is issued, this will also be explained.

— How can I appeal my punishment?

Mutes and ban cases require a ticket to be opened on our Discord servers to be looked at, you must be 13 years or older to join or have a guardian open a ticket for you. To appeal a ban, please visit the “Support” section on the website. To appeal a mute, please visit the official CreativeFun Discord server, linked at the top of the website. Staff will not be required to help otherwise unless you do not have access to Discord.

While most punishments expire after a certain amount of time, it is still encouraged to open an appeal or seek a staff member. If your appeal is rejected, in most cases you will be given a timeframe that makes you eligible to appeal again. You can find them here:

  • False or unfair punishments— instant removal upon appealing

  • Permanent mutes and bypassing a permanent mute— appealable after 2 months

  • Bypassing a ban— appealable after 3 months if the original term has ended

  • Advertising— appealable after 6 months

  • Griefing— appealable after 3 months

  • Inappropriate builds— appealable after 3 months

  • Inappropriate skins— appealable when the skin has been changed

  • Inappropriate usernames— appealable when the username has been changed

  • Death threats— appealable after 1 year

  • Disrespect or harassment— appealable after 1 year

  • Discrimination— appealable after 1 year

Some offences may be case-by-case that are not listed, if this is the case please await a response to your appeal.

While we do not allow rules to be excused for being a joke, player disrespect punishments may be appealed if given proof of your friendship with the player who was targeted. Not showing proof will result in your appeal being rejected. Please know that not all mutes may have their appeals accepted as well, depending on the content of the message. It is not the staff team's responsibility to know who are friends.

No appeal will be automatically denied unless it is inappropriate behaviour with minors, sexual harassment, attempting to lag the server/players, harmful hacks/modification, sharing sensitive information (doxxing), or if you are banned for the same reason twice.

— How do I report a player?

If you see a player breaking any of our rules, it is encouraged that you report their actions in our official CreativeFun Discord server. Any chat based offences should be reported through our in-game reporting system. You may access this by clicking on the rule-breaking message and then following the GUIs instructions. Messaging a staff member in-game or on Discord is also an alternative option, but may not guarantee chat offences to always be punished. Adding notes to a report or providing as much context as possible will help aid staff in punishing appropriately and efficiently.

Please note that if you doctor any evidence when reporting another player, you may be permanently banned for providing false information.
