How to access MC chatlogs for Windows
In this guide, you will be instructed on how to get your MC chatlogs. Your chatlogs can be useful for getting context
on a situation, or to check what you said on a particular day if you ever were to forget.
Check out Pcsitive's guide on how to get your mc chatlogs for mac here!
WINDOWS
Step 1
To start off, you want to press the windows icon in the bottom of your screen or press the Windows key on your keyboard. When you have that open, you want to type in %appdata% and hit enter.
Step 2
You will then come to a part of your file explorer called Roaming under app data. There you will find a file called .Minecraft, that's the file you want to click on.
Step 2 (alternative)
If you were not put into the folder called Roaming after searching for appdata, you can locate it here: (disregard this if you were already in the roaming folder)
Step 3
From the .Minecraft folder you should be able to see this subfolder called logs, where is where all your chatlogs are located.
Step 4
When you open that folder, you should be displayed with all the chatlogs you have logged. Here you can find the chatlog you are looking for with the sort functions, where you can sort by name, date and size. (or type, but they should all be the same file except debug and latest)
Do your logs only appear as random symbols when you try to open them?
That means you do not have a suited program to open them with! There are tons of programs that can help you with this, below are some of the programs I would recommend if you do not have windows 10 (as windows 10 has it's own unzip function)
PAID:
Winzip
FREE:
8 Zip Lite
